A Tom Kuhn branded laminated fixed axle butterfly yo-yo made out of Eastern hard rock maple by BC/What's Next in New York state.

While the laminated fixed axle yo-yo is not all that unusual (see BC/What's Next's Apollo - No. 30 exhibit), the silver foil stamp on it is uncommon and hard to find. This version was made for the 1999 New York Toy Fair to advertise Tom Kuhn yo-yos. Whether it was sold or a give-away to fair attendants is not known. Circa 1999. The text directly below "YOYO" is difficult to distinguish. It says, "EST. 1977", the year Tom Kuhn first went to market with his now famous, patented No Jive 3 in 1 yo-yo.

Notice that no BC/What's Next YoYo header card was added to the clear case. Came with a pack of five BC/What's Next cotton strings, and a red velour drawstring carrying pouch.

The same seal seen on this yo-yo can also be found on a rainbow laminate version in a tournament (or standard) configuration.

Original retail price: $ US.
