A clear Duncan Freehand Zero handpainted internally with an outer-space theme. It also includes Takeshi MOD silicone response pads. From my understanding, the yo-yo was painted first. Then it was sent to China where it was packaged and sealed in Freehand Zero-branded packaging. And finally, it was shipped back to the U.S. for retail sale.
This model is #51. The "51" is immediately to the right of the Duncan logo on the side cap. Numbering is in black and quite hard to see unless you view it under very bright light. Supposedly, 1000 of these outer space-themed yo-yos were made.
The FreeHand Zero was an updated and improved version of the original Duncan FreeHand. Size A ball bearing axle, take apart design, and Duncan Friction Stickers for response. The string gap was adjustable with two sets of shims provided: silver spacers for standard gap (pre-installed), original response/play; and brass spacers for wide gap (packaged), dead response play. Also came with three collectible counterweights. In this case, a blue rubber bouncy ball, dice with an attitude, and one yellow dice.
Original retail price: $35 US. | |
