Recreation Revolution's (aka RecRev) Neaue (pronounced "new") mini yo-yo from late 2013. It was very loosely based on RecRev's initial release of their Octave yo-yo in 2011. The pronunciation and spelling of this model's name was a mess. You can find it spelled as simply New, or memorable variations of Neaue, Neuae, or Neue.

Recreational Revolution Yo-Yos was started by Alex Kim, out of Los Angeles, California around 2008 and survived until about 2012/2013. All RecRev yo-yo models were primarily distributed in California. A limited number of models were sold by way of yoyorewind.com, yoyoexpert.com, and yoyonation.com. Today (2022) their yo-yos are hard to comeby on the aftermarket, but their values have not increased substantially. While their yo-yos are not considered high-end, their designs and quality were very good for the time. The Neuae is considered a mini yo-yo with rounded sides and a wide gap. It used a 10 ball Buddha Ripple Bearing (size C) axle.

The brand was popular in Japan. Recreational Revolution was scheduled to open a product sales booth at the 2013 Japan National Yo-Yo Contest, but it was cancelled due to various reasons such as delays in product arrival. The delay was typical of this short-lived yo-yo maker. Back then, they suffered the same fate that many boutique yo-yo makers are still going through today: Over promising and under delivering. Which is why many of them are no longer around.

From the yoyorewind.com website:
"Super sweet undersized yo-yo for a super undersized price!

When most people think of RecRev, it boils down to good yo-yos for great prices, with unique or novel designs. The new Neuae gives you a chance to taste RecRev's flavor for an especially affordable entry price. But behind that price is still a top-performing full metal yo-yo.

Undersized yo-yos tend to get branded as underpowered, but the Neaue is designed to deliver top-class performance. The normal drawbacks of undersized yo-yos cannot be felt with the Neuae. The body is small but still has a bit of weight to it, and this combines with the low edge to give you a pretty decent level of spin that you can rely on, even in a contest setting. Despite the size difference, the Neaue gives a similar feel to RecRev's flagship Octave series. This familiar feeling makes it an easy yo-yo for RecRev fans to choose, or if you just want to try their offerings, it's also a great little throw at an unbeatable price."

Original retail price: $35 US
