The Freehand Pu is presented here for your amusement. A memory from the dawn of the new millennium. You might call it a "cryptid", a mythological beast that is occassionally sited on April 1st, but like Bigfoot, sightings cannot be confirmed. Most likely because the person sighting the beast falls to it's hypnotic radioactive glow.
Grahame Wright, Chimera, suggested posting this as an April Fools day joke on Dave's Skill Toys online store, and on our web board in 2005. It was a hit. So many people believed it WAS an actual yo-yo. Both my store and Duncan Toys received many inquiries, asking if it was for real or not. There was even one response from a citizen of a foreign country in the middle east trying to purchase it. I really hope that was also a joke. I believe we listed it at the store for 2 million dollars.

Introducing - The Freehand Pu. Made from 99% pure Plutonium with 1% stabilizer, this new yo-yo will blow you (and your friends) away!!
Duncan scoured the world looking for the best material from which to build the Freehand Pu, and settled on Plutonium because of it’s strength, durability and pleasant green glow. The Freehand Pu employs Duncan’s patented new “fusion reactor” bearing axle system, for amazing sleep times. For response, the Freehand Pu uses Nomex™ pads to avoid a potential fire hazard.
The Freehand Pu comes in a lead-lined sealed container, complete with special gloves for handling the yo-yo. It is recommended that the Freehand Pu be kept in this container at all times and not store with other yo-yos. If one Freehand Pu comes into contact with another, critical mass may be reached.
