Following in the steps of the Confusion, the California is a full metal throw capable of both tug AND bind response.
If you speak the name of California in yo-yo circles, savvy players will recall a YoYoFactory model by that name released around 2010. But you'd be mistaken if you think
this yo-yo is anything like its namesake, it's a completely different beast!
The new [YoYoFactory] California is a full metal body, capable of both tug response and bind response. It draws heavily on the shape and concept of the Confusion, though it still bears the specter of the 2008 California in that profile. Not built for exceptional power or speed, the California is made to be thrown casually, for you to enjoy the stress relief that is the superpower of yo-yoing.
The flat area of the side face has grown larger and brought back the old California's artwork. The red/blue colorway features a stylized American flag [see in this exhibit]...".
This patriotic yo-yo came with a red, white, and blue string and a size C bearing for dead response play. For those who love original play, the yo-yo also came with a half spec size C ball bearing and an appropriately sized axle to work with the narrow bearing.
