Turning Point began in 2009 by 3A Yo-Yo World Champion Kentaro Kimura from Japan. His goal when he started Turning Point was to develop his ideal yo-yo. Turning Point was the first Japanese yo-yo maker to exclusively produce full metal yo-yos for competition. Designed to be the ultimate competition yo-yo, the first release of Leviathon, with its easy-to-grip body and low edge, gained recognition by competitive yo-yo players worldwide.

Manufactured with a tolerance of only .003mm, many fell in love with the high quality and precision of Japanese craftsmanship evident in Turning Point's yo-yos. Unwilling to compromise, each design goes through countless prototypes, and each production model is tested rigorously to ensure that only the best of the best ever make it to market. Kimura used to be on YoYoFactory's team, as he began to develop Turning Point, and the [YoYoFactory] Chaotic was a collaboration between the two companies. Kimura eventually left YoYoFactory to focus on Turning Point, and has since established his own sponsored yo-yo team.

Turning Point's Diamond Virgin was released in mid 2019. It is the bimetal signature yo-yo model of Takayasu Tanaka, the Japan National 1A champion in 2005 and 2006."

From the Japan Rewind website:
"Burning through the contest scene and setting trends with his innovative tricks. Takayasu Tanaka claimed two consecutive titles as the top 1A player in Japan, and has made his impact on the industry with his new signature model, the Diamond Virgin.

Named for the Janne Da Arc song that Takayasu used in his 2006 winning freestyle, the Diamond Virgin has specs inspired by YoYoJam's Mini Mo-Tu, the yo-yo he used to claim victory that year. But the biggest change between the two is that this new model has a more modern, bimetal design, with a large outer rim made of stainless steel [and aluminum body]. Thanks to Turning Point's extensive experimentation and knowledge, they've managed to incorporate a smaller M4 x 8 mm axle while still increasing the body width by 5 mm from the Mini Mo-Tu. This expands on the original concept of the Mini Mo-Tu of "small but powerful," as it performs similar to a much larger yo-yo while still giving you the tight control small movement of a smaller model. Even if you don't normally throw small, we encourage you to give the Diamond Virgin a toss and feel it for yourself.

Additionally, the edge is slightly lifted to preserve "that" playfeel that made the Mini Mo-Tu so popular. If you used to play with that model, the Diamond Virgin will bring back some sweet memories!"

This model came in several editions: blasted black body with silver rings (13,800Â¥), blasted blue body with silver rings as seen in this exhibit (14,800Â¥), blasted yellow body with gold-plated rings (15,800Â¥), and blasted red body with gold rims, a Turning Point webstore exclusive (15,800Â¥). The black version had some slight imperfections in the anodization, so it was sold by the Turning Point webstore and the Japan YoYoRewind store at a discount (approximately $10 US cheaper).

Original retail price: $145 US
