A Hummingbird Starburst, fixed axle yo-yo made out of solid maple and painted in a neon orange; Classic configuration and a light blue foil stamp.

In the late 1980s and into the early 1990s, Hummingbird's main product line included the laminated wood Trickster, and the solid wood Starburst, and Genuine Hummingbird. All three fixed axle models were tournament shape. However, they also made limited releases of these same three models in butterfly shape for a total of six variations.

All six of these variations were released -- in limited numbers -- as part of a signature release of Dennis McBride. The signature release had each model's respective name design foil stamped on one side. The opposite sides were stamped with Dennis McBride Yo-Yologist JN 3:15. Today, these yo-yo models are quite challenging to find because of their limited numbers and the fact that they were never sold in stores. They were either sold or given away by the McBride's. All of Dennis' signature models came without any box.

The overall shape of the Trickster, Starburst, and Genuine Hummingbird -- either tournament or butterfly -- are virtually identical. The only real difference between these models was their name and foil stamp design.

Original retail price: $ US
