YoYoFactory released the 401k as the upper end version of their popular adjustable models. FAST stands for "Fully Adjustable Starburst Technology" in this case. The "A" meant "Active" in previous versions. A unique response system patented by YoYoFactory. The construction includes adjustment knobs on the outside of Shuttles, with starburst built into them. Adjust the knobs, and the shuttle starbursts can be moved in and out to micro adjust response. Yoyofactory claimed that the shuttles could be adjusted to a thousandth of an inch. An aluminum body with plastic starburst response shuttles and knobs. A truly unique composite construction.
This early Yoyofactory model was packaged with a Cold War theme. Notice the style of the box and instruction booklet. It offers "Comrades" "Quotations to Play", "String for the People", and a Set of replacement starburst shuttles. It is finished in Cold War Grey. The halves are anodized beautifully with a dark, smooth grey anodize. From the first release of the FAST 401k.
