The Stunt Pilot 3 (aka SP3) is a combination yo-yo, off-string yo-yo, and spin top. The awesome performance of the Bee GT, with redesigned longer lasting Brake pads and ball bearing axle. Designed for off-string play like a Diablo, and for play as a spin top as well. Added a whole new dimension to the kinds of tricks that could be done. Made of indestructible ProYonium, a memory plastic that "healed" when you damage it (or, from the packaging it says "Allows for extreme play"). The most distinguishing feature of this yo-yo is that each halve has a small white plastic propellor. The nose cone of the prop extends beyond the plane of each halve so it can spin sideways like a top. It used a size A ball-bearing axle for great sleep times, and new brake pads for excellent response. Came with extra string and brake pads, and also a Yo-Sling(tm) for holding the yo-yo.
When the Stunt Pilot was released in 1999, you could also buy an optional add-on part called a "Barnstormer." You removed the nose cone prop from one side, then attach the aluminum extension post and insert the push-fit rounded nose cone. The extension post raised the yo-yo up from the playing surface to turn the yo-yo into a spin top. The Barnstormer add-on part is challenging to find now.
Original retail price (without Barnstormer add-on): $30 US.
Original retail price for Barnstormer add-on (a.k.a Stunt Pilot 3 add-on top enhancer): $6 US.
