Many sources have claimed that Gold Fusions and Gold Fusion GTs were given away as prizes for various contests. That may be true. But they were also sold at various online stores in the late 90s, including Dave's Skill Toys. The caps of the GT have the ProYo engraving and the tin is denoted with a "24k". And they were electroplated with 24k gold. The number produced is unknown.
Notice the yellow dot on the cardboard packaging. One yellow dot meant Gold Fusion, a yellow and a black meant Gold Fusion GT.
