The Yomega Gamma Brain Wing is the close cousin to the Yomega Power Brain XP Wing yo-yo.
The Gamma Brain Wing uses an outer plastic transaxle sleeve with an inner ball bearing axle; the Power Brain XP Wing uses a plastic transaxle sleeve exclusively. And, just like the Power Brain XP Wing, the Gamma Brain's auto-return function has an Auto/Off switch, letting you use either the auto-return feature or not. As you progress in your play and no longer need the "brain" or auto-return function, you switch it to Off for traditional yo-yo play. The ball bearing axle lets the yo-yo sleep much longer, even compared to the Power Brain XP Wing and other Yomega yo-yo models that use a plastic transaxle.
As with the original Yomega Brain, the end of the yo-yo string needed to be wrapped around the bearing 2-3 times to ensure the yo-yo returned to you in Auto or Off mode.
The Yomega Gamma Brain Wing had the following three U.S. patents assigned to it: 4,895,547, 6,565,408, and 6,494,761.
Included an instructional yo-yo DVD. This model, in 2011-2012 packaging, is hard to find now. The yo-yo is still being made today (2018) but the side caps and packaging are much different. The Gamma Brain Wing is still the most advanced, high-end Brain yo-yo ever made by Yomega.
