The Loop 720 2020 Club edition with orange body and translucent yellow side caps. It came standard with red metal spacers installed. Virtually identical to all other Loop 720 editions, the exception being the side cap design. This model was exclusive to YoYoFactory 2020 program members and were sold only in pairs.
Original retail price for the set: $30 US.
From the product's web page: "This color is not currently available anywhere else (March, 2018 at the time) but has not been discontinued.... meaning you may see it released in the future. As stated, this offer is only available to members who's [sic] continued feedback is greatly appreciated." The YoYoFactory 2020 program was a fee-based membership club that included exclusive access to buy and use prototypes of their Loop2020 yo-yo that was under development. It also gave members access to exclusive yo-yos, and special pricing on parts, maintenance items, and collector pieces.
The Loop 720 uses a size K ball bearing axle and starburst response. It is a workhorse model in YoYoFactory's overall product line, being released in numerous special editions and colors while still using the basic design. Adding John Ando's name on the yo-yo is also a powerful marketing endorsement from a looping professional US National champion. The string length used on this model--and many other looping yo-yos--has shortened considerably over the years making them easier and faster to loop. The string length on a stock Loop 720 is between 70-75 cm (about 2 feet 3 inches to 2 feet 5 inches).
Spacers for style of play
-Red spacers are used when you want a narrow string gap. They provide strong response which helps you better control your loops and minimize spin time at the end of the string. This set is generally not used for string tricks. These spacers are the tallest of the sets. They also do not require that you add any lubrication to the bearing .
-Blue spacers are used when you want a medium string gap for just enough response for looping and just enough spin time to perform original string tricks like Around the World, Brain Twister, Walk the Dog, and Eiffel Tower.
-Green spacers are used when you want a wide enough string gap to provide for long sleep times while performing string tricks; they are generally not used for looping. Because the cup is lower on these spacers, it makes the yo-yo the least responsive compared to red and blue spacers. It is best to add lubrication to the bearing when using this set. | |
