The Starfly was an entry level, budget throw that used a starburst response for traditional tug return play and a plastic transaxle bearing. There was also available an optional Fly Custom Set that let you convert your Starfly into a Galaxyfly with the use of a metal ball bearing axle.

The Starfly came with a simple user's manual that explained proper yo-yo maintenance and how to perform simple tricks.

The "Fly" series of yo-yos (Starfly, Galaxyfly, and Astrofly) was licensed by Bandai from YoYoFactory from 2011-2013. This short-lived series of three different yo-yos had their designs originally based on YoYoFactory's new (at the time) Replay model. The Replay was introduced on a very limited basis at the 2010 World Yo-Yo Championship. It wasn't until 2014 that the Replay was redesigned and in 2015 reintroduced, this time for the mass market.

Original retail price: $14 US.
