Made for years 1949 to 1955, Duncan Skill award single-wing patches, like the one in this exhibit, were more common than double-wing patches. Double-wing--or Expert--patches were the next step up for a player to earn. And, like so many Duncan patches, these winged varieties came in several different color combinations. The year 1953 marked the first time a silver wing was issued instead of the usual yellow.
