Hummingbird Limiteds were made for almost since the beginning of the company, until the end. Pictured here is the last edition, with the "Limited" logo. Before this logo, they were sold without any logo, and were not as collectible because of it. A full range of exotic woods were used, from light purpleheart to ebony. So many colors and variations in this model.

Hummingbird was criticized frequently for making these, because of the use of exotic woods from the vanishing rain forest. Some of these like Kingwood and Ebony are so heavy, that strings would break easily. They also frequently came apart, as a standard wooden axle did not bond well to some of the exotics.

Still, these are some of the most beautiful and collectible items produced by Hummingbird. Pictured here is a lighter colored wood, buch much heavier than maple but with a tight grain.
