The Initiator is a contest-ready looping yo-yo designed in Hong Kong by C3yoyodesign.
C3 collaborated with 2008, 2013, and 2014 2A (2A=Looping) world champion, Takuma Yamamoto, and Hong Kong's 2A champion Chan Chun Hey. Both helped test and develop a yo-yo that was capable of supporting players of all looping skill levels. The included metal and plastic spacers let you easily adjust the gap width for a variety of play styles. You use the metal spacers if you are a beginner wanting to learning tricks such as the Trapeze or the Brain Twister. The plastic POM spacers are best for looping tricks. From basic tricks to advanced two-handed looping, the spacers let you adapt the Initiator to your skill preference. For looping, it is best to use a string characterized as "fat" for best performance. The Initiator came with two strings, and plastic and metal spacers. Uses a starburst response, and size K ball bearing. Generally, you should never use polyester string with a yo-yo that has a starburst response. However, according to some players, this particular yo-yo is one of the few exceptions. Uses a size E (Yomega Raider) ball bearing axle.
