Officially released in mid 2009, the SPYY Pistolero (Spanish for "gunman") is a Canadian-made aluminum yo-yo with a size D bearing, one "Dif-pad" (black), and one silicone pad (red) for the response of this unresponsive yo-yo. The outer perimeter of each halve is laser engraved with a vintage western motif similar in design to those found on custom engraved Colt Peacemaker revolvers from the 19th century. Also, the hub of each halve has six holes in a circular pattern, letting you partially see into the bearing, regardless if the yo-yo is spinning or not. Overall, a very unique and interesting design.
After more than 10 years, SPYY temporarily closed its doors for business July, 2013. Following a two year hiatus, SPYY released the TYY-01, a $300 (USD), numbered, all-titanium yo-yo on November 8, 2015. Then, on May 4, 2017, SPYY re-released three models of $100+ yos that were leftover stock from previous years when SPYY was in active production: Galactic Goose (powder blue), Addiction (black/brown), and Supra (gold/yellow).
