General-Yo of Riverside, California, with Ernie Kaiser at the helm, designs and machines their own high-end precision yo-yos. The Mini Star, released July 2010, was General-Yo's senior (4th) release. As the name suggests, it is an undersized aluminum yo-yo with impeccable craftsmanship. It uses a size C AIGR (Aircraft Instrument Gyro Rated) ball bearing axle and General-Yo Hat-Pads for response. Designed and made in the USA.
In the past, General-Yo was known for their very limited production numbers -- usually 100 or less. According to the General-Yo website, the model shown in this exhibit had a production run of supposedly 37 total pieces. A great example of quality over quantity.
Compare with the pre-production Mini Star 2017 that came out in May, 2017.
