A special release of the Bandai Hyper Yo-Yo marking the one year anniversary of the start of "Yo-Yo Day" in Japan.
When the yo-yo boom began in Japan in 1997, Bandai held many yo-yo-related events on Yo-Yo Day which they marked as April 4. This date was chosen because "four" in Japanese is pronounced yon (YOH-n); the fourth day of the fourth month can be thought of as yon-yon, which sounds similar to yo-yo. This model of yo-yo was imprinted with the date "4 April 1998" which is unusual in itself. Its shape is similar to the Duncan Professional.
