This particular model was sold by Playtoy Industries of Concord, Ontario in 1997. The body shape is essentially identical to the venerable Olympic and Pro models sold by other toy companies in Canada before and after the release of the Classic. As with the Olympic and Pro models, this yo-yo was also manufactured by Elfverson, based out of Sweden.
Playtoy lasted only one year before going bankrupt. Approximately 340,000 wooden, one-piece "Classic" yo-yos were made.
