The Manual Acceleration contains a mechanism similar to a power spring, making it a very unique yo-yo. The way you spin it is what makes it so unusual:
1. Press down on the red button in the center of the side face and release so that it pops up. It extends about 7 mm.
2. With two fingers, hold the red plastic body and with your other hand grip the clear plastic side cap on the other side.
3. Rotate the red body portion as if you are winding it up. Six or seven rotations is sufficient.
3. Grip the clear plastic cap and depress the red button to release the spring and start the red yo-yo body spinning.
4. Perform your string trick.
When the yo-yo stops spinning, you repeat the steps again to perform another string trick.
The duration of spin is determined by the number of body rotations in step 3, and the type of string tricks you are attempting. Because this yo-yo does not have a response system, a bind or a tug on the string is ineffective to get the yo-yo to return to your hand. For this reason, the Manual Acceleration is not a typical yo-yo. While this may seem gimmicky, it is actually an interesting innovation for a particular user group. That is, young children who are new to yo-yo play and are unable to throw a long spinner. They can use this yo-yo to at least get the yo-yo spinning hard enough to perform their string trick.
