This model--made for looping--is nearly identical to the Yomega Fireball in body shape, transaxle bearing system, and functionality.
The "Hyper Dragoon Professional" is a variant of Hyper Dragon yo-yos with the exception that you do not need a specialized tool to take it apart. Instead, you simply unscrewed the halves from the axle. This functionality made the yo-yo much more usable compared to the Hyper Dragon yos. The gap on this model is narrow which means it is great for looping. It was possible to exchange the transaxle bearing for a ball bearing from the Hyper Dragon series. You could also remove the spacers on the yo-yo to further customize its play and feel.
This model and the "Hyper Dragoon Standard" was made exclusively by Bandai. Bandai's own yo-yos, along with other yo-yo brands that were imported from the USA and licensed by Bandai, fueled the explosive growth of yo-yo play in Japan in the late 90s. Today, in 2016, many of the most innovative yo-yos and best yo-yo players in the world are from Japan.
This model is uncommon and hard to find for a mass produced yo-yo.
