Once Upon a Tree is a Houston-based creator of high-quality wooden yo-yos. They handcraft their bandalores in small batches, one at a time. The result is a nicely balanced yo-yo that is very enjoyable to play.

This fixed axle model is the "Just For Fun" yo-yo, YO-nut edition. It has chocolate "frosting" and colored "sprinkles". Besides brown, it was also available in white, green, and pink "frosting with sprinkles". The Simpson-ized paint job makes the yo-yo look like a donut from the side. I believe five of each color were made in 2016. It was re-made and re-released in April, 2017.

The yo-yo came nestled in a large paper cupcake holder which was then sealed inside a crafty-looking polybag to maintain freshness well past its expiration date. A clever, eye-catching yo-yo design that is also functional.

Collected January 13, 2016.

Once Upon a Tree has not updated their Facebook page since July 2018. They are likely no longer in business.
