Same as the Hasbro Yo-Yo Pencil on the mint card, but without the full-length card; instead, a small round header card was inserted between the yo-yo halves. The pencil itself says "Midnight Hard Charcoal". The pencil is original with the tiny yo-yo. Most are unaware that in Hasbro's early years they manufactured pencils under the brand name "Empire Pencil".

This version of the pencil, with a small round card mounted at the top, is much more common and easily found than the version mounted on a full length card.
