An early wooden Duncan Satellite from about 1961 or 62. Notice that this version of the card did not have "Mark I" printed on the side of the rocket that the Duncan Yo-Yo Man is riding. Also, the back of the card was formatted sideways in relation to the front. Pink lacquer with aluminum flecked finish.

On this Satellite version the bulge is entirely domed; later versions had a small diameter flat area on the bulge face.

The M-1 was eventually dropped from the Duncan product line around the latter half of 1963. It proved to be a slow seller compared to its sibling the "Shrieking Sonic Satellite" yo-yo which remained popular among youth and continued to be made into 1964.
