An early Technic Terminator with first version side caps. Note the side caps say, Oliver's Toys - Technic Terminator - San Francisco. Oliver's Toys -- referring to long time yo-yo professional Dale Oliver -- was eventually replaced with Spintastics.

When Dale began selling yo-yos, they were sold stand-alone, without any packaging, just like the model in this exhibit. Then, in 1998, the company switched to selling their yo-yos in packaging.

This debut model was perfectly balanced with just the right string gap width. It was superb for beginners wanting to learn looping or for advance players.

More than 25 years later, the yo-yo ranks up there as my personal, all-time favorite for looping.

Take apart design with a wooden axle.

Original retail price: $6 US.
