What set this model apart was the following:
• Contest team logos/colorway
• Upgraded finish
• Dorothy bearing
• Tractor/dif-pad/starburst response option
The 401k came with a premium bearing but they found one better. Rather than charge people $10 more for a 401, YoYoFactory wanted people to be able to afford the 401k experience but also wanted people to get to try the bearing.
Dorothy Bearing - They play best if 'played in'.
Can be cleaned and lubed (but cleaning is not a substitute for breaking it in). You do not need to take off the bearing shields, but it appears as though you can, if you wanted to.
The bearing size is 5mm x 10mm x 4mm.
There is a bit of a story with this yo-yo.
Seventy of this edition were made. Fifty-five were actually shipped to stores. Two stores split a lot of ten, and another store took the remaining pieces. YoYoFactory originally planned a run of 100 but when stores did not order in haste they dropped the release quantity. Five were also held back as prizes for contests, like the F.A.S.T. Video Shootout.
Also of note, there were four all BLUE contest team editions randomly mixed in.
