From the former Royal Tops yo-yo website:
"Royal Tops Manufacturing is pleased to announce the release of its new collectors series, The Goody Rainbow and The Goody Comet. The Rainbow will be available for sale at midnight EST Sept 8, 2000, and is limited to a production run of 2000 individually numbered pieces. As true as possible to the original, The Good Rainbow features some truly unique design additions that will enhance the legacy of this historic yo-yo. Semi-precious jewels replace the paste rhinestones generally used in yo-yos, and the brilliance and clarity of Amethyst, Garnet, Aquamarine and Alexandrite intermingle with subtle design improvements that make this a beautiful looking yo-yo. The Goody Rainbows are handmade wooden yo-yos with a variety of stones and configurations, and a custom black satin finish, adding to the uniqueness of each piece."

It is unknown whether the production run of 2000--a very large number for such a collectable, limited release--was actually sold. Some collectors believe less than 500 were sold. As of summer 2016, a primary source stated that a large abundance of these reproduction yo-yos still existed.

The yo-yo came with two button pins and a certificate of authenticity. The yo-yo was presented in a sturdy, clear, plexi-glass display box (originally made to house baseballs).

Unlike the original version, these reproductions did not include the airbrushed gold stripe through the middle of each halve. You can see and compare the original version by browsing yo-yos from the manufacturer "Goody" in this museum.

To my knowledge the reproduction Rainbow, Comet, and Tournament were Royal Tops only releases from Tom Radovan's newly resurrected but short-lived company.
