During World War II there existed a U.S. B-26B Marauder from the 497th Bomber Squadron/344th Bombing Group. The crew nicknamed their plane "Yo-Yo Champ" and used Chicken Little as their yo-yoing mascot. The premise was that yo-yos always come back and their pilot, Lieutenant AJ Wood, was short, chubby, and red-headed so "Chicken Little" seemed appropriate.
First Lieutenant Wood and his crew flew more than 100 successful missions before being shot down over Schwabmunchen, Germany by a Messerschmitt 262 (first jet fighter used in war) on Tuesday, April 24, 1945.
Besides the picture of the 1/48 scale decals, this exhibit includes two pictures of the actual plane (and Lieutenant Wood in one of them).
