One Drop started the Benchmark series in 2013 with the goal of producing 3 low-cost Side Effect yo-yos all using the same specs (width, diameter and weight) while using different shapes.
For 2014, One Drop has added a new model (a true "V" shape) while shaving 1mm off the diameter and width, and 1g off the weight. The 2014 Benchmark series also have new "Flat Cap" Side Effects.
Shown here is the 2014 W shape in red. The 2014 Benchmark Series uses One Drop's standard setup of Flow Groove pads and a 10-ball bearing. The 2014 W is a similar design to the 2013 V, and the W name is a better fit as this design is really a "winged V" rather than a "true V".
