This mandala is another design that waited years on my hard drive for Tom Kuhn to go back in production on No Jives. In 2006, I asked Oke Rosgana to create a Purgatory Snowflake design, similar to the old Aspen, Colorado snowflake. Purgatory Colorado is one of my favorite places on earth. Oke came up with two designs. But no parts were available, and the designs waited until 2013 before they could be made.

Only 50 were made in the butterfly shape with LIGHT background. Over half were sold at a friend's shop at Purgatory resort.

After the long wait, I wanted these to be perfect. But there were several production problems with the Purgatory 1 run. Logos were burned about 20% smaller than requested, and hex nuts were not centered well. The smaller sized logo burns made the offset hex nuts even more noticeable. On the LIGHT background versions, there is also a phantom ring around the design. I was not meant to be there. It was noise when the engraver converted the graphic file format. The phantom line really ruined this run for me, but fortunately most were being sold at Purgatory, and the store there didnt care about a minor error like the outer line. The store owner actually said he thought it looked better with the line. Some have suggested that the errors made these look more rustic. While beautiful designs, I will always consider the Purgatory 1 run as "flawed gems". And now you know how much of a perfectionist that I am.
