The Pistolero, released by SPYY in 2009, was an ambitious undertaking only available through the manufacturers website. The yo-yo's circumference was carefully engraved with an authentic capture of the scroll-work from an 1873 Colt Peacemaker pistol. The signature SPYY hub-spikes in this model also feature 6 holes, to resemble a gun-barrel. A flaw in the bearing-seat upset the yo-yo's smoothness in the eyes of SPYY-owner Steve Buffel, which led to its being released at a substantial markdown. A smaller run of 50 red Pistoleros was later made available.
