A colorful and detailed award system used by Spintastics from 1999 through the mid to late 2000s. These patches are reminiscent of the award patch systems used by Duncan in the 1950s. All tricks had to be performed with a Spintastics yo-yo. Great stuff!

It is unusual to have the list of tricks associated with the patches, and the standards by which a yo-yo contestant was judged. A superb, modern example of a yo-yo award system.

All the patches were affixed to stiff cardboard which was then shrink-wrapped. The exception was the green Off-String Expert patch. In the late 1990s, off-string yo-yo play and competitions, also known as 4a, was still a new thing to players. It would be several years before that style of play was sanctioned for competition and find its way into mainstream yo-yo. Hence, the patch's addition to the Spinstastics card, after the fact, and its slightly different design in comparison to the others.

Team Spintastics Awards Program
The program was designed to promote and prolong the interest in yo-yos by providing embroidered patches as incentives to players through retail-based Spintastics Testing Sites across the country. Retail outlets enjoyed the benefits of this interest by providing a venue for players to perform a series of tricks to earn 8, 16, and 24 Trick, Instructor and 2-Hand Team Spintastics patches. The program was also developed for the European market under the name Team Euro, and sponsored by Spintastics.

Team Spintastics Award Program was ideal for retailers, yo-yo clubs, recreation departments, and elementary physical education departments.
Retailers who wanted to participate in the learning incentive program only needed to familiarize themselves with the required tricks as performed in the Spinology instructional video. They did not need to be able to perform the tricks, but only be able to identify that a trick was done correctly. Spintastics managed the distribution of the award patches. Retailers who were Interested in the program needed to contact Spintastics.
