In the early 90's, Daniel Volk, "The Yo-Yo Master", worked in promotions for Hummingbird. This model was created as a contest prize using his title in the name of the Award. These were impressed with gold, silver, or bronze foil for first prize, second prize, and third prize in a Hummingbird Yo-Yo Contest. This model was never sold and could only be WON in a contest.
On some occasions, these models were incorporated right into trophys given as awards. Many of these were liquidated when Hummingbird plant went out of business. Most were put in Rainbow packaging, although that packaging was used for other Hummingbird products, not the Yo-Yo Master Award.
Pictured here is the Bronze Award version, with Bronze impressed foil logo. | | | |
