This Canada Games accessory pack contained five official replacement yo-yo strings and a small disc of wax for maintaining a yo-yo's spin. The bilingual English and French packaging gave illustrated instructions for removing the old string, installing a new one, tying the finger loop, and waxing the string. The instructions did not mention what to do with the wax. You were supposed to lightly rub the wax over the entire length of string or just to the string loop that went around the axle. Waxing cotton string was supposed to extend spin times and prolong string life. The technique was more popularly known and used in the early 70s. It's interesting that no yo-yo manufacturer or yo-yo string maker has ever sold waxed yo-yo string, akin to waxed shoe laces that you can still buy today.
The string pack was sold by Canada Games Company Limited of Concord, Ontario, and was made in China.
