The Ja-Ru Rainbow YoYo Jacks toy combined two classic games—yo-yo and jacks—into one toy. Manufactured by Ja-Ru, Inc., a company known for creating fun and innovative toys, this set offered a unique twist on traditional play.

The set featured a transparent yo-yo that housed a colorful jacks set within its body. By unscrewing the yo-yo's halves, players could access the jacks and ball stored inside, allowing for seamless transition between playing yo-yo and jacks.

This inventive design not only provided versatility but also served as a convenient storage solution, making it easy to carry both the toy and game on the go.

Released in 1999.

Original retail price: $3 USD.

About Ja-Ru
Ja-Ru, Inc. was a family-owned toy company founded in 1961 by Bernard "Bernie" Selevan in his garage. The company's name was derived from the first names of his two sons, Jack and Russell, who joined the business in 1969 and 1975, respectively. By its third generation, Jack's sons, Marc and Andrew, and Russell's daughter, Hope, were involved, continuing the family legacy.

Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, with additional offices and showrooms in Hong Kong, Ja-Ru established itself as a leading supplier of impulse toys worldwide. The company was committed to manufacturing and distributing high-quality toys that offered maximum play value, with a primary focus on safety. Its diverse product line included innovative toys for children of all ages, featuring brands such as Ultra Foam Shot, Cyber Shot, Air Foam, Wow Ka-Pow, and yes, Rainbow YoYo Jacks.

Ja-Ru's toys were known for their quality packaging and attractive designs, all at an affordable cost. With more than 150 employees worldwide—100 based in the United States—Ja-Ru provided products and service to customers in every U.S. state and 35 countries globally. It was rare to enter any retailer without finding a Ja-Ru toy.

The company ensured that all its toys met or exceeded CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) standards, with continuous testing to provide the safest toys, reflecting its commitment to child safety.
