A Yomega Fireball - Dennis McBride - National Yo-Yo Master, circa 1998-1999. Covered by U.S. Pat. No. 4,895,547 for the Yomega transaxle system.

This special edition Fireball was fitted with commemorative translucent dark blue side caps with a gold imprint honoring Dennis McBride, one of the first three people named National Yo-Yo Masters in 1995. The yo-yo itself is the standard Fireball: clear gold body, four visible hub posts, and Yomega’s plastic transaxle sleeve that delivered long spin times and easy looping compared with fixed-axle models.

The Fireball helped popularize the modern transaxle through the 1990s boom and became a staple for demonstrations and tours. Special caps like this McBride "National Master" version tie production pieces to prominent figures in the U.S. yo-yo scene.

About Dennis McBride - National Yo-Yo Master
A longtime Southern California player, coach, and contest official active from the late-1980s through the 2000s. McBride judged and helped run major U.S. events (including California state and national-level contests), mentored young competitors, and served as a visible ambassador during the 1990s boom. The National Yo-Yo Museum in Chico, California recognized his decades of service with the National Yo-Yo Master award, hence the commemorative cap on this Fireball.
