Duncan Freehand One 2023 - World Yo-Yo Contest 2023 edition with pink body, white side caps, and a size C ball bearing axle. This model debuted exclusively for sale at the 2023 World Yo-Yo Contest in Osaka, Japan, August 18-20, 2023. Several weeks later, this special contest model, along with two other colors (red body/white caps [size A bearing], blue body/white caps [size A bearing) went on sale publicly at various webstores around the world on September 7, 2023, 20:00 MST. Side A featured the text "World Yo-Yo Contest 2023 Osaka Japan Duncan" with a stylized, contoured "Yo-Yo" text design; side B featured a larger version of the stylized, contoured "Yo-Yo" text design. The pink color of this model was polybagged only (no box packaging) and did not come with a string, or any accessories such as a spare string, extra response pads, or counterweight. A very budget release. The other two colors, red and blue, each came in display box packaging but no accessories, either.

"In 2001, Duncan launched the original Freehand and with it, came a change in the world of yo-yos. They tapped into something unique. Although it was not fully understood as to why, everybody recognized it: the Freehand was special. In addition to launching a new style of play, the Freehand's shape, aesthetics, and feel made it into an instant classic.
Over the years they explored many different designs emphasizing various elements of the original, but with different materials and shapes. On its 20th anniversary they are returning to the roots with what might be the best plastic Freehand yet: the Freehand One."
