A solid red Genuine Duncan Whistling Yo-Yo Top with black seal, made out of tin, and likely from the late 1940s to early 1950s. Tournament-shaped. As with all Duncan tin whistling yo-yos, there are four holes on one halve and two holes on the other halve. Only side A had the Duncan imprint; the opposite side was blank.
Green and orange are the most common colors you find of this yo-yo model today. Less common colors include red, yellow, and brown.
A couple of things to check with Duncan tin whistler -- or any tin yo-yo for that matter -- is to ensure that the halves are securely attached to the axle and do not rotate on the axle. Also, because these were tin halves mounted on a metal axle, there was a tendency for the string groove to be narrower -- or wider -- on one area of the yo-yo. This effect was due to the halves being bent on the axle.
