The Hummingbird Trickster was the first production model made from laminated dyed wood. Wood strips dyed in various colors were laminated together, to create the unique designs in the natural wood. Lamination also created a slightly heavier, but stronger product, and was much less resistant to long term shrinkage and warping than yo-yo halves made from one piece of wood.

The Rainbow was one of Hummingbird's most popular and long lived models, available throughout most of company's existance.

Pictured here is another primarily pastel colored Trickster, Purple/Mint/Pink. The purple actually ranges from dark blue to purple on these.
