Sponsors and Curators
The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!
If you're a manufacturer, or just a big collector and you want to help support the Museum drop me at line at chimera@yoyomuseum.com

Spintastics Skill Toys, Inc. – Dale Oliver’s Firefly, standard edition
The standard edition of Dale Oliver’s Firefly was a butterfly-shaped plastic yo-yo made by Spintastics. It featured glow-in-the-dark plastic and a built-in LED light system for added visual impact. The LEDs, identical to those used in the Spintastics Glow Torch Top, were mounted inside one hollow halve of the yo-yo. Two ultra-bright LED bulbs were powered by a pair of LR44 button batteries and activated only when the yo-yo reached a specific rotational speed.
The Firefly’s body was based on the mold of the Spintastics Tigershark. It was not sold in retail packaging but came in a simple, non-sealable polybag.
Two versions of the Firefly were produced. Both were identical in construction, with the only difference being the sidecap printing:
• The first 70 units included a “Special Edition” imprint.
• The rest omitted this text and were referred to as the standard (or "non-special") edition—even though the yo-yos were otherwise exactly the same.
It's an odd bit of Spintastics history, but true.
In terms of visual effect, the Firefly was outshined only by Clearline Concepts' class 3A Laser Yo-Yo, which was built for extreme light-up performance.
