About the Redline
"In 2005, Tom Kuhn and What's Next Mfg. introduced the Redline model, one of the finest yo-yos in the world. This finely tuned butterfly, ball bearing, wooden yo-yo was an ultrahigh speed spinner. Each Redline featured Dr. Yo's (read: Tom Kuhn) patented turbo disc technology for perfect response, and high quality bearings. These awesome yo-yos could pull off even the most complex tricks with ease.

This yo-yo was crafted from hard maple, one of the world's finest hardwoods and materials of choice for 'weight, balance and durability'."

While the yo-yo is Tom Kuhn branded, it was actually manufactured by What's Next out of Arcade, New York.

Uses a size I ball bearing, as do all Tom Kuhn ball bearing yo-yos.

This version of the Redline is hard to find nowadays. It is not clear whether this yo-yo was actually retailed (it never appeared on the tomkuhn.com Product or Collectors web pages for sale), or whether it was given away by Dr. Kuhn to potential clients, or served as an example to customers of the promotional imprinting that What's Next could do on their skill toy product line. It's possible that the yo-yo was also given by Tom to his dental patients.

Original retail price: $10 US.
