The 2022 version of YoYoFactory's Steel Shutter mini. An undersized, all-stainless steel version of YoYoFactory's Shutter model.
The Shutter was the signature model of two time USA National Champion and 2014 World Champion Gentry Stein of the USA. While a favorite model of many players around the world, the yo-yo also inspired Japanese yo-yo brand 66% to create a miniature version of it in 2017 known as the Shutter 66 was a 37mm diameter.
Interestingly, while the Steel Shutter was scaled down 22% from the original, its weight of nearly 65 grams came in very close to the full size weight of 67 grams. Besides the reduced size (44mm diameter), it used a Size A CenterTrac ball bearing axle (size C bearing on the original) and YoYoFactory small bearing pads (19mm pads on the original).
Unlike the 2020 Steel Shutter mini, the 2022 version, seen in this exhibit, was not engraved with a serial number. However, Gentry Stein's signature and the "YYF" logo were engraved on it, just like the 2020 version.
This 2022 version came in black, silver, gold, and rainbow.
