Sponsors and Curators
The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!
If you're a manufacturer, or just a big collector and you want to help support the Museum drop me at line at chimera@yoyomuseum.com

The original purple Duncan Freehand Zero - Glasseye was the signature yo-yo of Brian Cabildo, known on the web as glasseye. Brian was an early twenty aughts yo-yo competitor. He also was a member of the Duncan Crew Worldwide, founded and lead DXL Crew. Brian ran the http://theglasslab.com website (now defunct) that functioned as the official home of the DXL Crew which he founded and led. The website was a mish-mash of yo-yo and non-yo-yo stuff. It mainly served as the personal blog of Brian.
Like so many Duncan Freehand yo-yos, the total production number claimed for many special editions vary from person to person and from website to website. Generally, these special editions were 200 or less. But according to a duncantoys post made on Instragram, November 18, 2022, "The original purple Freehand Zero was the glasseye edition.... These were incredibly hard to get - only 150 pieces. Not available online [Rick: true at the time they were released, but yoyonation.com sold them in June 2008]. You had to go to a west coast [yo-yo] contest to see Brian [to buy one from him,] or call a yo-yo store that might have happened to get some from him. Many people didn't even know this edition existed."
The male image printed on the sidecap was created by Brian.
On June 15, 2023, Duncan re-released this model with the same purple body and glasseye side caps, along with two other different sets of side cap designs and one purple counter-weight die.
Original retail price: $45 US. https://web.archive.org/web/20080630222225/http://www.yoyonation.com/home.php?cat=131 | |
