The classic Hummingbird Trickster fixed axle, multi-colored laminated wood yo-yo from the late 1980s, early 1990s. The bubble card included the Hummingbird Nature in Motion Trick Book and what appears to be a yellow paper behind the trick book that was likely a small form to subscribe to the Yo-Yo Times newsletter. Before the Internet, the newsletter was every player's and collector's connection to others around the country. It was also through the newsletter that you often found out about new yo-yo releases.

The Trickster was one of Hummingbird's most popular yo-yo models. Dyed thin strips of maple wood were glued together to create colorful patterns, in this case rainbow. Unlike solid wood yo-yos, laminated wood helped to create a better balanced yo-yo and prevented warping. Tricksters were three piece wooden yo-yos with a glued wooden axle.

Original retail price: $7 US.
