The Day Tripper in gold and clear anodizing was a collaboration between Doctor Popular (Brian Roberts) of San Francisco and ZipLine Strings (Jeremy Park) of Idaho.

You could think of [Day Tripper] as a slimmed down version of the Weekender, designed to easily slip into your pocket for everyday use. The yo-yo is ultralight and highly responsive, designed more for stalls and regenerations than for long sleep times. It has become my main yo-yo for modern responsive play and I think it sets a new standard for the style. Made by One Drop Yo-Yos of Oregon.

Each Day Tripper comes with a variety pack of ZipLine Strings, picked out by Brian and Jeremy specifically for this yo-yo.

The first batch of yo-yos was released for sale January 15, 2021, 18:00 MST, on both the doctorpopular.com and ziplinestrings.bigcartel.com websites and sold out in less than a minute. A second batch of the Day Tripper yo-yo was made available through pre-order that started January 29, 2021. The yo-yo in this exhibit is from the first batch.
