The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!

From the yoyorewind.com website:
"Many players were introduced to dead response play with the Freehand, and this next generation is based on the upgraded Pro version, with additional enhancements.

The diameter is the same as the original, with the width shaved down a bit to give a taller, more powerful spin. Despite being 3 grams lighter than before, the NextGen provides a sense of weight and power that you don't expect, eclipsing the performance of the previous Pro version.

Another improvement in the design prevents you from over-tightening your Freehand, which in the past could have caused damage to the yo-yo. Now you can open and close it for regular maintenance without worrying about damaging it.

True to the original, the NextGen is backwards compatible with the old 48mm Freehand sidecaps, so if you have old Freehands lying around, you can mix and match your caps for an old school flavor. As an added bonus, the NextGen comes with a counterweight dice for 5A play.

The NextGen came with minor vibration as a result of the manufacturing process. Usually, a small amount of vibration does not affect play. However, you can reduce or eliminate any vibration by adjusting the gap by tightening or loosening it.

Came with a flat size C bearing and dice counterweight."

Original retail price: $16 US.
