Whimsy (based in Hong Kong) "Lessur" is a 21st century yo-yo maker's interpretation of the ubiquitous plastic Jack Russell Coke yo-yo. The name "Lessur" is supposed to be "Russell" spelled backwards, but they dropped the extra "L" to make the name easier to pronounce. Unfortunately, the name of the yo-yo was not added anywhere on either halve for ease of future identification... a perpetual problem with many of today's yo-yos.

Unlike the popular light-weight, plastic-bodied Jack Russell Coke yo-yos of the past -- and a looping favorite of 1996 World Yo-Yo Champion Dale Myrberg -- this aluminum version is a brick. It is far too heavy for one- or even two-handed looping. There is a highly dubious video on the Internet from Whimsy that supposedly shows a player using this same model of yo-yo to perform two-handed looping... with exceptional ease and speed. However, the 92 gram weight of just one yo-yo is completely uncharacteristic of any looping yo-yo that has ever been made. The video is completely fake. Most high quality looping yo-yos fall approximately between 50-55 grams. As such, the Whimsy Lessur serves best as nothing more than a paperweight. One of the worst metal yo-yos made in the last twenty years. Uses a size B bearing.

Original retail price: $20 US
