This is a collaboration Crook, bearing the local cartoon character from Kumamoto, "Kumamon."

Kumamon is a mascot cartoon character that represents the Japanese prefecture of Kumamoto. "Kuma" means bear in Japanese, so the character is a cute play on the prefecture's name. This is an officially licensed collaboration item.

The recently released and popular beginner model, the Crook, was used as the base design, but the spacer and bearing thickness is slightly different. The slightly thicker inner parts makes the Kumamon Crook a bit less responsive, for longer spin times and makes tricks like Elevator and Blanco (Rock the Baby) easier.

Although this yo-yo is also named Crook, the internal parts are slightly different. To upgrade this yo-yo's performance to match the standard Crook, there was made available a yoyomonster Crook Upgrade kit. The kit let you convert the Kumamon yo-yo to the same level of looping performance as the original Crook. The kit included a bearing and two spacers, the same that came standard with the yoyomonster Crook.

(On a side note. there was supposed to be a "points" card inside this yo-yo's package but it was missing or intentionally removed. If you collected 15 yoyomonster points, you could receive a special edition gilded Crook. So, if you collect Crooks, be sure it comes with its point card. See the standard Crook exhibit to see a points card and a picture of the special edition gilded Crook.)
