The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!

Tron was an action adventure sci-fi movie released in theaters July 9, 1982. The movie was about a computer hacker who is abducted into the digital world and forced to participate in gladiatorial games where his only chance of escape is with the help of a heroic security program.

To commemorate the movie, Duncan released the licensed Tron yo-yo. It was identical in specs to their Duncan Professional slimline model, but with a glow body and special lenticular side caps. The Duncan Tron yo-yo was released during the same time period as the Duncan Pac-Man lenticular yo-yo (#3272). One side of the Tron yo-yo featured the "Tron" movie logo; the opposite side featured the Tron Light Cycle from the movie.

Original retail price: $3 US.
